I Prize: The Missing Colours

The film takes the viewers into a journey into the world of a transgender, who lived for colours, her only love. A talented artist is rejected by the world and suffers to earn a living. She lived in a hut in Mahabalipuram. Strangers always stole the colour of her life, she kept her first love by working with paint and brush to convert her thoughts to colour images. A researcher traces the artist with the clues in an article written by a French photo journalist. The painful rejected life of a transgender is depicted.

The film vividly depicts the life of folk lore artists. The change in trends has replaced the folklore with cinema. They move to various places in search of jobs. Their traditional livelihood of folklore does not feed them. So they turn as load men, coolie labours and any work they get to meet their ends. Every activity in the changed place reminds the folk lore in one or the other way. The king in the drama turns a laughing stock in the practical life. He is back to his village after a sojourn in a different place as he longed for his passion – Folk art.

III Prize: Chedi

It is a human interest story of a poor cycle aerobatic. He earns a living by conducting cycle aerobic shows in road with his little daughter. When she is injured and hospitalized a doctor with humane heart emphasises the need for children’s education. The life of the aerobatic becomes enlightened after he resolves to educate his daughter. The film gives the viewer a detailed note on government rules on child labour and importance for children’s education especially girl’s education.
