Vadamadurai is one of the federations promoted by DHAN in Dindigul district. This federation has taken up an initiative to electrify all the Kalanjiam members homes. They are planning to set up an Energy Fund of Rs 1 Lakh. They plan to use it as a revolving fund to reach out to their members. Around 40 households belong to the Scheduled Castes. Agriculture characterized by dry land farming is the main occupation of the residents. Agriculture is of subsistence in nature and almost all the households are involved in sheep rearing for their survival. The waste lands and the nearby hilly areas are used as pasture lands. Sundarapuri Village

Sundarapuri is situated 15 kms from Vadamadurai. It is situated on the Dindigul -Erode road. It is one of the remote hamlets of the block. The wage rate is very low and ranges from Rs.30 to Rs.45 per day.

In addition to the coolie works they too go for their traditional works called as Urimaiadithal and Thappadithal. Normally at the time of village functions and death the villagers used to get works. The earnings are very meager and highly uncertain. The health and education infrastructure are very poor.
