This village comes under Ponnasamudra Panchayath Y N Hosakote hobli in Karnataka and it is around 13 Kms away from the Taluk head quarters. The major occupation of the village is agriculture and allied activities like Dairying, Horticulture. The major sources of the irrigation are Open Well, Bore well and rain fed farming. Among these the ground water plays a major role and decides the faith of agriculture.
Status of Drinking Water in the VillageA small scale water body exists from long back and people used it for cattle drinking purposes. Because of the modernization in agriculture they have forgot the existence of this percolation tank and presently it is almost in the stage of non existence. Thus the capacity of the structure reduced to a great extent and not serving the purpose for which it has built. Presently the Percolation Tank is fully silted and water storage capacity of the percolation tank is reduced.
Way Forward and Expected Benefits: By taking up this conservation works the people will be benefiting by getting water through out the year for their livestock. The three open wells and 9 bore wells in and around the structure will be recharged and the farmers who take their animals for grazing purposes will be benefiting by drinking water for their animals.
