Kammargaon is the remotest tribal Grama panchayat in Bejjur Mandal of Adilabad district. This village is 16 kms. away from the mandal head quarters. This grama panchayat consists of three habitations namely Kammargaon, Nandigaon and Gundepally. Kammargaon has 84 households and consists of 422 population. In this, 124 are Scheduled casts and 298 are Scheduled tribes. Status of Drinking Water in the Village

In this village, 4 open wells and 4 bore wells exists. Out of these, 2 open wells and 2 bore wells are working. All the villagers are using these sources only for their drinking and other needs. So, they are spending their time 1 ½ hour daily per family. During Mid summer, these sources are also not fulfilling the villagers’ needs. This village is existed on the higher elevated place so they are facing the water problem. This village has highest rainfall. So by providing one drinking water pond (Oorani) in this village,m they will get the water for their needs and enjoy the drinking water facility.

Way Forward and Expected Benefits

The proposed Oorani will be helpful for the villagers not only fulfilling their drinking water needs, but also give them the hygienic and healthy drinking water. Mentally they may get free regarding the drinking water problem. Now they are spending more time for ensuring the drinking water for their family .By providing the Oorani, we may nullify this time so that they can concentrate on their works with peace of mind.
