Vasimalai M P has a master's degree in agriculture from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, and is a management graduate of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He is the Executive Director of DHAN Foundation. He has over 20 years of experience in the development sector. He has specialised in community organisation, designing development interventions in the fields of natural resource management and livelihood promotion, institutional development etc. He has traveled widely within and outside India. He has organised several national and international workshops, policy seminars on the themes of Natural Resource Management and Micro finance and has participated/presented papers on these themes at many national and international forums. He is also holding various positions in national and international forums, working groups, task forces and missions of central and state government on these themes. He was the member of a working group on minor irrigation of Planning Commission of India. He is a visionary, dedicated to the cause of poverty reduction. He has promoted many thematic development institutions and has nurtured them by setting appropriate culture building mechanisms. He was instrumental in promoting various network organisations too.
Gurunathan A
Gurunathan A is an agricultural engineering graduate and a postgraduate from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA). He has worked in India's premier dairy Amul in its prestigious Amul-3 automatic dairy complex project for 5 years at Anand, Gujarat. He has also worked as Research Fellow in Water Technology Centre, TN Agricultural University, Coimbatore. He has conducted many training programmes for Project Officers, PWD Engineers, NGO officials on organising community; tank-fed agriculture development, watershed management, total quality management, etc. He has organized many policy seminars on "Water" at Chennai and at Delhi for Government officials, Academic Institutions and Research Institutions. He has presented papers on "Water" in seminars and workshops within and outside the country. He is presently the Chief Executive Officer of DHAN Vayalagam (Tank) Foundation. His areas of interests are water and IT for Development.
Prof. C.R.Shanmugam
Prof. C.R.Shanmugam is one of the eminent engineers of Tamilnadu who strived for Sustainable Agriculture through Agricultural Engineering Technologies in Tamil Nadu. He has more than 43 years of field, academic and research experience in Tank Irrigation Sector. Being a post graduate in Agricultural Engineering he started his career in the Department of Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering and later worked in College of Agriculture Engineering of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and climbed up the ladder to the position of Dean. After his retirement from the academic services, he continued his pursuit of research with Centre for Water Resources, Anna University, Chennai. He was instrumental for initiating the Action Research Programme on Irrigation Tanks early 80's. He is the author of many books which are widely used by development planners and practitioners. He is a consultant for Irrigation Water Management to a number of national and international organizations. He has also participated and presented many papers in national and international workshops and seminars. Presently he is continuing his development works in the advisory role to the Vayalagam Tankfed Agriculture Development Programme in DHAN Vayalagam (Tank) Foundation.
Palanisami
Palanisami is a post graduate in Agricultural sciences. He is currently the Programme Leader in DHAN foundation leading the Rainfed Farming theme.
Sumathi
Sumathi is a post graduate in Agricultural sciences. She is currently the Programme Leader in DHAN foundation leading the Centre for Policy and Planning.
