Action Research on Co-management of Tanks for Renovation and Maintenance in Gundar River Basin
The aim of this study was to understand river basin systems, water sharing, problems of sharing, water potential, distribution systems, people and their livelihoods and people’s management of tank irrigation systems. Afetr the study, suggestions were made for basin development.
Study on innovative practices – Revival of Traditional Drinking Water Oorani by International Water Management Institute
The IWMI described the study as innovative and that it was intended to resolve the drinking water problem in chronically water-scarce areas. The IWMI concluded that ooranis are the most preferred source of water resource.
Historical Perspectives on Tanks and Their Locations
The ancient technologies were compiled from inscriptions and a collection of papers was made a book. A monograph book on irrigation news from inscription was published.
Water security – Integrated Micro Watershed Development in Tamil Nadu
This was submitted to the State Planning Commission to take up a special programme on water security.
Tank Cascade Atlas – Adilabad District.
This Andhra Pradesh Government-funded project was done and the atlas was prepared for easy identification of tank chains.
