The Vayalagam Tankfed Agriculture Development Programme commits its interest to educate and motivate the poor community comprising women, farmers and landless on the importance of safe drinking water at household level.
Bio sand filter is a very simple technology; even then, several key operating parameters must be adhered for effective removal of the pathogens. To ensure the maintenance of highest standards and to ensure that the end users receive the best quality of water, the users, installers and manufactures are given training in batches.

The interactive training workshops are designed to engage participants in a participatory learning environment. The workshops provide a forum for participants to develop practical tools for action, learn from the collective wisdom of the group, garner resource material and expand their network of support.
With each workshop, the goal is to provide a learning experience for the level of the participants, after which they have the necessary information and tools to take the next step themselves. After experiencing and applying the result of their new-found learning, organizations seeking additional information can contact the programme for on-line support or additional training.
