Growth and Prospects

Vayalagam Tank-fed Agriculture Development Programme is active in 34 locations supported by four regions viz. South Tank, North Tank, Gulf and Andhra-Karnataka. Presently there are 1807 MFGs with 102266 members and Endowment Grant of Rs. 22 lakhs with 50 per cent contribution from the people.

Upscaling

The Foundation would expand the programme to other potential areas by means of direct action and through affiliates.

Direct Action

The programme would be expanded to the potential areas by the own team in Foundation where the focus would be on creating, nurturing and sustaining the organizations of farming community for ‘safe guarding’ traditional water and deepening the programme in other areas.

Vayalagam Affiliates

The Foundation would expand the programme to other parts especially in North India by identifying suitable organisations and entering in to a MoU with them. They would implement the Vayalagam Programme on the principles and values adopted by Vayalagam Foundation in the project areas.
