Small Millets based Value Added Food Products

Small millet team members participated in a one-day event on Global Tribal Entrepreneurship Summit organized at Dantewada, Chhattisgarh conducted by District Rural Development Agency (DRDA). The entrepreneurship training event was organized with the funding support of NITI Aayog, Government of India. The event focuses mainly on improving tribal startup entrepreneurs and to mainstream their businesses into sustainable livelihoods. In this event, small millet scale-up project activities were exhibited and many government officials and local NGOs visited the exhibition stall and enquired about small millet processing machinery. Four suitable local NGOs were identified for promoting community-level small millet processing units. The district administration of Dantewada also shown interest to promote community-managed processing units in their district. It is identified that there are two major Kodo millet and Little Millets clusters in the state. The good response to the exhibition and wider reception of the summit shows promises for further engagements.
