Training:

DHAN Foundation offers training to a range of agencies which includes NGOs, bankers and government. DHAN Foundation has trained the government functionaries of senior and middle levels such as all the Block Development Officers, Assistant Project Officers and Project Officers to orient them in the concept of SHGs. Regular programs of training are being conducted to introduce bankers to the concept of linkage between SHGs and Banks. In a week at least there will be an average two numbers of training programmes are conducted by the organisation on the subject for outside agencies.

Advocacy:

DHAN Foundation is part of various committees constituted by the government. This offers it space to make available the knowledge gained from its work for larger use. DHAN Foundation is part of the Task Force on Micro-finance constituted by NABARD, a member of SIDBI Foundation for Micro-credit, Water Mission of the state of Andhra Pradesh and the CAPART regional council. . DHAN Foundation is member of, the CDF, Conservation and Development Forum based at the University of Florida, United States, the NET, Network of Institutions Engaged in Rainfed Tank Management and INAFI, International Network of Alternate Financial Institutions.

Consultancy:

DHAN Foundation is the part of a consortium of consultants appointed by the European Commission to advice the Pondicherry government on the Pondicherry Tank Rehabilitation Project. It also offered its services to the Tanzanian Government in reviewing a Rural Financial Services Project in 1999. DHAN Foundation is also the Micro-finance specialist in the Asian Development Bank Technical Assistance team for the ADB India Housing Finance II Project and Infrastructure projects.

Publication:

Documenting of its experiences and publishing them is another main task undertaken. There is a separate division to exclusively look after this. Till date more than 50 publications have been published. A quarterly journal is also being brought out on Tanks apart from an in house newsletter.
