137 members out of 240 recorded positive cases in the working locations of the DHAN Visakhapatnam region had been recovered and discharged. Among all the federations, Sagaratheera federation where the fishing communities are residing have recorded more cases; 98 cases from three clusters in Sagaratheera federation.

Regional team have in their possession all the contact details of the Kalanjiam associated members. Amid the sudden hike in the number of cases in the district, DHAN health associates in collaboration with local PHC workers, government volunteers and cluster EC leaders are in constant touch with members and their families. On daily basis members’ information tracking, keeping in record the health information of members as well as families is also on-going. Regional team entrusted with boosting the morale of the member families tested positive.

Cluster Executive Committees across the region engaged in vulnerability assessment of the virus contracted members’ families. Two members – husband and wife – in Shanthinagar federation aged above 60 years have recovered and discharged. Cluster members supported them with groceries for two months and Rs. 5000 for their subsistence needs. Two members contracted the virus in Malkapuram federation discharged after the treatment were also supported with the grocery kits.

Cluster EC leaders entrusted with enhancing the mental health of the virus contracted members and their families, with daily follow-up about the health status of the members.

Regularized sanitizing across all the federation and cluster offices and premises. Staff were equipped with face shields and immunity boosters and employed thermal scanners during all the group meetings and loan appraisals, in addition to ensuring SoMaHa practices.
