Four batches of Associates are taken every year, beginning around April, July and October and January. The Associateship is for approximately three months (13 weeks) of which Associate will spend 12 weeks in one of our projects and one week for assessment. He/She will be placed in a DHAN project and work under the guidance of a DHAN member experienced in grassroots development and designated as Field Guide. The Field Guide will help Associate to explore development work in villages as a long term vocation.

What DHAN expects from Development Associates

During the Development Associateship we expect he/she to have assessed :

1. Level of motivation for grassroots work in rural development.

2. Ability to adjust to physical discomfort.

3. Level of comfort with your back-home social milieu.
